Great time at Oktoberfest

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, chat with me, share your thoughts about Sierra Vista, or just spend a few minutes getting to know me. Those conversations mean more to me than I can say.

One of my favorite parts of the event was seeing so many young people taking an interest in their community.

I met a sweet 5-year-old who was excited to meet me, a Cochise College student who registered to vote for the very first time and gave me a big hug, and a group of boys who came running up to tell me they recognized me from the 9/11 Remembrance ceremony the night before. Those moments are reminders of why building a strong, welcoming community matters so much. Our future belongs to them.

And of course, I have to give a shout-out to Mrs. Rivera for being my partner in the chicken dance and to AJ, who beat me in the opening round of Hammerschlagen! 😂 I do not need rematch.

I’m grateful for every conversation, every handshake, every laugh, and every person who took the time to stop by. This campaign has given me the opportunity to listen to so many of my neighbors, and I’m thankful for every one of those conversations.

And what better way to wrap up a wonderful Saturday in Sierra Vista than with a double rainbow over Oktoberfest?
